CRA-W Career Mentoring Workshop 2005

The goal of the CRA-W Workshop on Research Career Mentoring for Women in Computer Science and Engineering is to provide mentoring activities targeting women in professional research careers. The workshop is structured to provide researchers at all levels with critical information about the culture of and content required for professional research, and contacts with successful role models and mentors.
The fee for attending the workshop is $260. The fee covers the cost of the facilities and meals provided during the workshop. Each participant is responsible for her own travel arrangements and expenses (airfare, local travel, and room costs, etc.)

We have reserved a block of rooms at the workshop hotel. Upon receipt
of your registration fee, a room in the workshop hotel will be held
for you. The workshop room rate is $165/night (plus tax).
The 2005 Career Mentoring Workshop is sponsored in part by the National Science Foundation.
The workshop will cover a variety of topics targeted
to "junior" academic researchers and
industrial and national laboratory researchers.
For junior academic researchers and graduate students: we will have
panels on how to get the best out of attending a conference, getting
a job and negotiating a start-up package, getting funding, and surviving
the tenure process.
For industrial and national laboratory women:
we will have panels on transferring research success into new
products, management career options, and the challenges/opportunities
raised in today's environment of start-up companies.
